[:en]Today is Piano Day! For this special day, Berlin’s finest instrumental duo CEEYS reworked NILS FRAHM’s track “Kind”. The rework was recorded and mixed by CEEYS together with Francesco Donadello at Vox-Ton Studios Berlin.
Enjoy this wonderful piece of piano and cello. Time to get excited about the release of CEEYS’ first own music which will be out very soon!
About:
CEEYS are the brothers Sebastian and Daniel Selke, an instrumental duo from Berlin, performing experimental but accessible compositions and improvisations. Their sound is primarily defined by the interplay of cello and piano influenced by authentic electronic gear and instruments from the Cold War period. They create handmade percussive noise from the instrument’s acoustic material potential and process it with numerous live effects. Classically trained, they take more influences from jazz, minimal, ambient and pop.

CEEYS – das sind die Brüder Sebastian und Daniel Selke, ein Instrumental-Duo aus Berlin, das mit experimentellen aber zugänglichen Kompositionen und Improvisationen arbeitet. Ihr Sound wird vor allem durch das Zusammenspiel von Cello und Klavier geprägt, angereichert mit authentischen elektronischen Geräten und Instrumenten aus Ost-Deutschland, insbesondere aus der ehemaligen DDR. Zusätzlich integrieren sie subtile handgemachte perkussive Geräusche aus dem kompletten Potential ihrer akustischen Instrumente und manipulieren diese mit zahlreichen Live-Effekten. Klassisch ausgebildet, erhalten sie weitere musikalische Impulse aus Jazz, Minimal, Ambient und Pop.
